Build Transparency and Trust in Government
A Guide for PR Professionals

Presenter: Patrick Cooney, Communications Division Administrator at ODOT.

Survey results, research data and our own experiences tell us that the majority of Americans don’t trust “the government.” Why is that? More importantly, what can we or should we do about it? Join us June 5, for a conversation with Patrick Cooney, APR, Communications Division Administrator with the Oregon Department of Transportation as he shares the latest research research on trust in government and offers advice on building transparency.

Patrick has 25+ years experience as a government public relations practitioner, media source, and spokesperson on federal (Department of the Army and Department of Defense) and state (Oregon) level. He has deep experience in media strategy, and emergency/crisis communications. Patrick is Internationally accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America and has a Master’s Degree in Journalism.
